GYMNEMA SILVESTRE (gymne) First proved by Lt. Col. R.N. Chopra, the plant belongs to Asclepiadaceae family. Called by other names such as Mesha-shringa (Rain's horn); Chhotadudhilata, Shirn-kuranja and Kavali, it is a great 'sugar-killer'-excellent medicine for diabetes mellitus, also efficacious in poisonous snake-bites.
